To market in the morn
Its my first market for this year tomorrow, I have had a long break an am feeling very excited about setting up my stall in the morning. Just a little local market, it should be fun to catch up with local peeps and chat with the friendly makers.
I'm feeling incredibly inspired at the moment,as if I could just craft 24 hours a day :)
Ah if only....

Twas a glorious sunny day yesterday, the best weather market I have had in a long while, the last three were ghastly. Many people wandering by, lots of peachy comments about my delightful displays, a few sales and a visit form my wee family of 3.
A happy day....tired oh so tired though, home to ship shape the shack a little, dinner with the munchkins, then a long dreamy dream......

Rainy market day
A very rainy day in Upwey today, raining, poring, there were moments I wished I was still snoring!
I was really happy to have my lovely friend Cindy to keep me company for most of the day. We chatted as the rain fell, and people bustled about with umbrellas and jackets. Quite a few people popped in for a chinwag and to get some shelter from the rain.
Cindy had her fox owl & bird ceramic brooches in the stall today, heaps of people stopped to comment and admire them. I sold a few bits and pieces, enough to make the day worth while. Not keen on doing more winter markets though, bring on the sunshine I say!

Finally some winter sewing
Cot Doona Cover with toasty polar fleece backing
Cot doona cover
Dolly in my pocket thermal t-shirt
Pretty cotton cot doona cover
Shabby mini bunting
Whew!!! Finally a sewing blog update! I've been busy this week finishing of bits and pieces in my started and not completed basket. Really happy with my 2 doona cot covers, might tackle a single bed one next. Looking forward to my next market on August 18 in Upwey.
I've been sewing some bits and pieces for myself too. Upcycling some pieces from the oppy, adding doilies and embroidery to pretty them up. I'll post some pics when I get a chance.
6 months till Christmas, time to start booking in to the chrissie markets and getting my fingers working :)
Happy winter x

Market day
The market was a bit of a disappointment, with my site being shunted off to the side in a very small un-air conditioned hall.
Luckily for me Lilian, Cecile & Belinda came along and made the day shiny & full of conversation. Not to mention great company & help with packing up.
As compensation for such a poor set up the market organizers have offered me a stall at their next market on 18 march at the same venue. I've been promised a proper stall in the main town hall.
I have the Upwey market on the 17, so it's going to be a busy busy weekend :)

My next market!
I'm so excited! On Sunday 26th February, I'll will be showcasing my wares at Mathilda's Market. This is a fabulous niche market that offers unique, stylish and affordable baby & kids goods that are lovingly handmade or of limited production. The retailers are handpicked to ensure an exciting product range. It's a kid's shopping haven. Better yet, most of the retailers do not have a shop front, so you know you'll find something special, not available anywhere else. Please come and see my stall at Mathilda’s Market from 9am to 1pm at the Malvern Town Hall, Cnr Glenferrie Rd & High St, Malvern. Entry and parking is free. With over 70 retailers and kids’ entertainment Mathilda’s Market is one of Melbourne’s best shopping destinations for the little ones. For a sneak preview, have a look at the website mathildas market and enjoy a browse through the photos of all participants. I look forward to seeing you there!

Finally a sewing day :)
3 dolly in pocket cotton t's
5 dolly in doily pocket t's
7 dolly in doily pocket with vintage buttons t's
Pretty cotton & lace skirts with doily pockets
Gorgeous cotton & lace skirt with crochet embelishment
9 pretty skirts hanging in a row
I finally knuckled down and made the 9 t-shirts I had been planning on making for weeks now, I'm most happy with them. The pictures I snapped today aren't great but you get an idea of how lovely they are. Bright colours, vintage dollies appliques, thrifted doily's and vintage buttons make these t-shirts unique & special.
I also finished 9 skirts last week each decorated with lace and a variety of doily pockets, crochet or dolly appliques. Many various sizes and pretty fabrics.
I am not sure if I will list them in my madeit store or save them exclusively for my upcoming market stall. I will definitely need to take some better photos before I can list them.
Night x
