Market day

The market was a bit of a disappointment, with my site being shunted off to the side in a very small un-air conditioned hall.

Luckily for me Lilian, Cecile & Belinda came along and made the day shiny & full of conversation. Not to mention great company & help with packing up.

As compensation for such a poor set up the market organizers have offered me a stall at their next market on 18 march at the same venue. I've been promised a proper stall in the main town hall.

I have the Upwey market on the 17, so it's going to be a busy busy weekend :)

This is where i'll be on the 18 March :)

Thrifty tuesday

Fabric stash to pretty quilt

Whilst at my local oppy today I discovered someone had donated a whole stash of gorgeous fabric. I had a quick look through and grabbed about a third of it. Leaving the rest for another lucky thrifty sort.

The patchwork quilt is what I made from some of it this arvo.

Funny bunny

Front/Back

Trying out something new this morn...making a toy from one piece only, except for the ears. Most of my other toys have many separate body parts, face, hair and more. This bunny is all one piece of felt on front, and printed quilting cotton on back. the ears are separate felt and fabric and are unstuffed so they can flop forward. Bunny also has a very tiny easter egg pouch :) Just a tester toy, not sure I love the face, also my little boy told me "it was too scary for him".
Hehehehe, gotta love honesty!

Opp shopping....one of my favourite outings

Vintage Holly Hobbie

My heart skipped a beat today when is saw this original Holly Hobbie  rag doll (first made in 1974) sitting at the bottom of a toy basket in the oppy today, marked 50c!! I rescued her & hurried her home for a quick spin in the washer, just waiting for her to dry so I can fixed her braids and pop her perfect dress back on. Squeeeee for me. Holly was my absolute fav when I was around 4, I can remember having this exact doll & my Mum making very similar dresses for me to wear. I may have also had Holly Hobbie bedding. I just checked her out on ebay, people are selling the same doll for around $25-40..score :)

Melamine plates & matching retro apron

My kids & I had a fab thrifty day at the oppy's today. With many lovely dollies, vintage pillow cases, floral fabric, cute wooden stool, retro red & blue gingham apron (for Lil) & my new peachy pie set of 6 gingham/floral plates.

The kids also found many treasures, they too are very good fossickers!
